Bethel, Connecticut has a low crime rate, reasonable taxes, good schools and a healthy economy.

Bethel occupies 17 square miles, and in 2001, the population was 18,100. Median age is 35, median income, about $35,000 in 2004. Most adult residents attended college.

Whites make up the vast majority of the population in Bethel. Hispanics are a distant second, followed by Asian Pacifics, blacks and then Native Americans. Neighboring Danbury, however, has a more diverse population.

Bethel has a large number of children.

Bethel High School students score over 1,000 on their SAT's, 97.6% graduate and the majority go on to college. Many new residents speak of moving here for the schools.
